God’s Timing

"God's perfect timing." We've all heard it, said it and probably prayed for it. But do we believe it?
Do we really believe His timing is ALWAYS perfect?

“Faith in God includes Faith in God’s timing.” - Neal A. Maxwell

Can you imagine your favorite meal? What if it was prepared correctly, but cooked at the wrong time?
Whether it be undercooked or overcooked, either way the wrong timing would ruin it.

The One who created time knows everything about it.
He’s outside of it, yet somehow, inside all of it simultaneously.

His ways and timing are perfect and precise.
And regardless of whatever hallway we are each currently waiting in, eventually we will all be able to look back and clearly see His fingerprints and footprints. The ones that took us there, kept us and fed us there and led us elsewhere.

Time and time again, God’s timing always proves to be perfect. Let's trust Him?

Here is what the Bible has to say about God's timing:

Ecclesiastes 3:1 (there is an appointed time for everything)
To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven...

Jeremiah 29:11
(His plans & timing for you are good)
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future."

Lamentations 3:25-26 (wait for His timing & seek Him in the waiting)
The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (submit & trust in His timing)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 16:9 (He establishes your steps & the timing of them perfectly)
In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.

2 Peter 3:8-9 (He is patient & He teaches us patience while we wait on His timing)
But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. Instead He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Habakkuk 2:3 (His timing isn’t delayed, even if it feels like it)
This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.

Isaiah 55:8-9 (His timing is formed from a much higher perspective & vantage point)
For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.

Ecclesiastes 8:6 (your story will be for His glory, including the timing of it)
For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter, though a person may be weighed down by misery.

Micah 7:7 (as you wait on His timing, get your hopes up; He hears you)
But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.
