Epistle to the Church on the West Coast

One Christ Won City Followers, Believers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, By the will of God, To the Church of Jesus Christ on the West Coast of Florida. Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 
 
We do not cease to give thanks to God for you; and to our Lord Jesus Christ! By His mercy and grace, He has raised you up to be His people in this community. He has done this through the renewing work of His Holy Spirit, bringing life and light to lost souls through the power of the good news of Jesus Christ! In Him (Jesus Christ), you are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit. 
 
We know you meet in many "houses" throughout the west coast. We accept the reality of distinctions forged by sincere hearts and submissive minds to Christ and His Word. We realize that Christ's body is diverse and we embrace the beauty, yes, even the messiness, of our Lord's Bride in this world. We know the ultimate expression of our unity awaits us in the life to come, even as we seek to understand His Word better in these days! 

Nevertheless, we still believe in the unity of God's people, wrought by the Holy Spirit, and the bond of peace He forges. We are eager to do our part to seek to maintain it. We believe in One Body, One Spirit, One Hope, One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism, and One God and Father of us all. 
 
One Christ Won City, a gathering of local followers of Jesus on the west coast, exists to seek to express this unity and share in ways we can – a united witness to our Lord Jesus Christ in this community where our Lord has placed us! 
 
With this in mind, we invite you to join with us in shared gatherings and endeavors in this year of Christ's Reign, 2024! We believe our Lord will grant us grace sufficient, and wisdom - as we ask Him in faith – to glorify His name on the West Coast through worship and deeds of service – done together in Christ's name. Please be in prayer for our Lord's blessing upon us! 
 
Now, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God the Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all! Amen!

Statement of Faith

God's vision is to reach the world through the local church. The local churches in our area must work together with the understanding that the health of the community is our responsibility. We declare that we are on the same side working for the same cause—the advancement of the kingdom of God in southwest Florida and around the world. 

We therefore affirm that:

1. We strive for unity and peace as the body of Christ

2. We the believers of the west coast, commit to strengthen each other in prayer and encouragement.

3. We agree to participate, when possible, in scheduled meeting times for forum discussion and scheduled events which are on the OCWC calendar.

4. We agree that our fellowship of believers finds common ground on the following beliefs.

WE BELIEVE...The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are God's inspired, infallible Word, and declare His design and plan for mankind.

WE BELIEVE...There is only one true God; revealed in three persons...Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (commonly known as the Trinity).

WE BELIEVE...In the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. As God's Son; Jesus was both human and divine. He was born of a virgin becoming truly man. He offered himself as a sinless, substitutionary sacrifice for a lost human race through his death on the cross. He was physically resurrected from the dead to show that his redeeming work was perfectly accomplished and completely satisfactory to the Father. He ascended into heaven in order to begin his present heavenly ministry as our High Priest, as Head of the church, and as our Advocate before the Father. One day He will return in power and glory.

WE BELIEVE...Though pronounced good at creation, man willfully fell to sin; ushering, both physical and spiritual death and evil, into the world.

WE BELIEVE... that Jesus Christ is building His Church on the earth and that although she may exist at present in many different branches, she remains One in Christ.

WE BELIEVE...God has offered us forgiveness of sin through repentance and faith in Christ. This city is won when individuals give their lives to Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord.
